Cookie Policy

1. What Are Cookies?
Cookies are small text files that websites store on your device (computer, tablet, or mobile phone) when you visit them. Cookies are widely used to make websites work properly, to remember user preferences, and to provide information to site owners. Cookies can be session cookies (deleted when you close the browser) or persistent cookies (they remain on your device for a set period).
2. Types of Cookies We Use
At PlayQAcademy, we exclusively use strictly necessary technical cookies required for the platform to function. We do not use advertising cookies, tracking cookies, analytics cookies, or third-party cookies for commercial purposes. Our use of cookies is minimal and transparent.
3. Strictly Necessary Cookies
The following cookies are essential for the operation of PlayQAcademy and cannot be disabled in our systems:
- Firebase Authentication session cookie (__session / auth_token): managed by Firebase Auth to keep you signed in while you browse the platform. It is a session cookie that is deleted upon signing out. Without this cookie, you would not be able to access protected areas (dashboard, lessons, exams).
- Language preference cookie (i18next): stores your preferred language (es or en) so that the platform displays content in the correct language on each visit. It is a persistent cookie with a duration of one year. Without this cookie, the platform would use automatic language detection on each visit.
4. Cookies We Do NOT Use
For your peace of mind, we explicitly inform you that PlayQAcademy does NOT use: behavioral advertising cookies, cross-site tracking cookies, third-party analytics cookies (such as Google Analytics), social media cookies, tracking pixels, or fingerprinting technologies. We do not collect browsing data for advertising purposes nor share information with ad networks. There is no advertising on the platform.
5. How to Manage Cookies
You can configure your browser to reject all cookies or to notify you when a cookie is sent. However, please note that if you disable session cookies, the protected areas of the platform will not function correctly (you will not be able to sign in or access lessons). Each browser has a different procedure for managing cookies:
- Google Chrome: Settings → Privacy and security → Cookies and other site data.
- Mozilla Firefox: Options → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data.
- Microsoft Edge: Settings → Cookies and site permissions → Cookies and site data.
- Safari (macOS): Preferences → Privacy → Cookies and website data.
- Safari (iOS): Settings → Safari → Advanced → Block All Cookies.
